The H2020 NICE project consortium visited the Talavera plant

On September 20, the sixth consortium meeting of the H2020 NICE project was held in Talavera de la Reina. Taking advantage of this occasion, the project’s scientific committee visited the INTEXT platform. Both INTEXT and NICE projects share their approach towards Nature-based Solutions applied to wastewater treatment. The meeting allowed for the exchange of new perspectives and innovative technologies that both projects are addressing in their research. The numerous visits received on the INTEXT platform will enable future collaborations and synergies.

Between September 10 and 14, WETPOL took place in Bruges (Belgium). It was the tenth edition of this international symposium on wetland pollutant dynamics and control. On this occasion, Rubén Hervás, from Aqualia, Alain Petitjean from Syntea and Cristina Ávila from AIMEN, made three oral communications in which they presented the results obtained on the INTEXT platforms.

From June 26 to 29, the 6th IWA International Conference on eco-Technologies for Wastewater Treatment (EcoSTP) was held in Girona, with the presence of the INTEXT project. Iván Blanco, project manager for Aqualia, participated in the workshop “Water reuse and resource recovery at decentralized level in MED area”, and Damián Amador, Aqualia researcher gave an oral presentation of the INTEXT platform.

The eighth meeting of the INTEXT consortium was held at the CENTA facilities, in Carrión de los Céspedes (Seville). The meeting allowed to visit the experimental plant and the project facilities at the Mediterranean demonstration plant. At the same time, the progress of INTEXT was shared both in this facility and in Talavera de la Reina. The meeting highlighted the high level of commitment and collaboration of all partners, which strengthens the continued progress of the project.

The specialized portal Aguasresiduales.info has organized for the second time its cycle of classes and talks with the most prominent gurus in the sector. Masterclass 19 was led by Enrique Lara and Iván Blanco from Aqualia, who spoke about INTEXT’s Innovative Hybrid INTensive – EXTensive Technologies for small urban agglomerations.

Within the framework of GreenWeek, this portal also organized a webinar on “Wetlands as nature-based solutions”. Rubén Hervás, Aqualia researcher, spoke on behalf of INTEXT and spoke about its technologies. These webinars allowed delayed access to more than 600 people interested in nature-based solutions from around the world.
