Sites and location

LIFE INTEXT technologies will be tested in two different demo sites in order to consider different climate conditions. For that purpose a Continental demo plant and a Mediterranean demo plant will host the technologies.

Continental Demo Plant:

The WWTP of Talavera de la Reina (Toledo, Spain) was selected as the most adequate location for the Continental demo plant of the project. The WWTP is treating two streams coming from the town of Talavera de la Reina and a small village of 1,600 PE (Talavera la Nueva). The plant was designed for a PE of 180,000 PE and the average daily design flow is 2011 m3/h.

Mediterranean Demo Plant:

The experimental Centre of CENTA, in the municipality of Carrión de los Céspedes (28km from Seville) was selected as the location for the Mediterranean Demo Plant. This technological platform is also the official WWTP of Carrión de los Céspedes. It receives around 250m3/day of raw WW.

LIFE INTEXT is a project co-funded by the European Union under the LIFE Programme Grant Agreement nº. LIFE18 ENV/ES/000233
